Friday Favorite | Variety is the spice of Life

Variety is the spice of life! Right?!? Doing the same thing over and over can get boring. Changing up your habits, the paths you take, the adventures you go on, the things you try and how you approach things make life more exciting, fun and rewarding. It is a good way to continue to learn (which doesn't seem to happen as often and naturally after college). Plus, trying a new type of movement is not only fun but helps you see changes in your body.
I have recently been working on changing up my workout habits, trying new styles of movement and taking a variety of classes outside of my typical repertoire.
So I have tried something new. Do you want to do the same - try something new? At a discounted price? Join me, trying out classpass! What is classpass? Besides awesome (p.s. not sponsored - although we both get the discount $40 off)! It is a great way to check out a variety of gyms and studios all over. Not just in the city but also in the suburbs. So as someone who lives in the suburbs and works in Boston there are plenty of classes for me to try throughout the day! There are tonz of companies involved, offering everything from gym time to specialty classes (Boxing, Barre, Yoga, Pilates, Cycle, etc.).
I have been using my subscription for over a month. Three of my favorites places to visit are:
BTone | "Slow Movement, Fast Results"
These Pilates-style classes use a reformer machine for resistance. This style of workout uses the whole body. The classes are each 45 minutes which work well for me, I can easily fit in 45 minutes before work or at lunch time - perfect way to get in a quick, effective workout. Each class and teacher is a little different but there are certain moves frequently uses such as mermaid, french twist & (p.s. I kinda love the names of the moves). There are also multiple locations in and around the city.
Exhale Spa | "Come In. Exhale. Leave Better"
As the name implies, this is a spa, so they obv have that going for them! Upon entering I feel more calm and like I am treating myself to a special experience. They have a variety of classes here, also sweet spa services (hammam spa, massage, nails & facials). I have attended yoga classes (even outside along the water) and barre classes. The classes I have taken were challenging, time passes quickly and the teachers shared great insight and knowledge.
Everybody Fights | "Unleash Your Inner Fighter"
Two words: Kick Ass. Every time I go here I feel like I get my butt kicked. And... there are plenty of opportunities for ass kicking as this place seems to always have classes happening! There are multiple classes per hour. I have tried BAGSxCore, BAGSxBEATS, BODYxYOGA, TRAINxSTRENGHT - all were awesome! Being in the gym you are automatically energized, it could be 6am or 7pm the place is brightly lite with energizing loud music. This is a great place to be motivated to work hard!
TIPS | Are you looking to try something new?
I have some ideas for you:
Join me and try classpass (get 40% off your first month on a 5-class or 10-class plan!)
If you already belong to a gym, take a class you never have before!
Many athletic stores offer free class, so try one in your neighborhood (lululemon, athleta)
I enjoy connecting with others about my passions, while also learning from others. I hope my sharing is enjoyable for YOU! Please let me know if you have any topics YOU want discussed or questions answered. Have you tried classpass? Do you have any questions? Comment below...
p.s. this is not sponsored, although both Healthworks and Republic Fitness do have classes through classpass, so if you are not a member of those studios and want to check out my class there, you can through classpass :)
